Privacy policy

The GOSH Learning Academy, part of Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS foundation Trust are committed to respecting the privacy of individuals using this website. The information in this statement relates to website use only.

What is a privacy policy?

A privacy policy lets you know what happens to any personal data that you may give us or that we may collect from you or about you as a user of our learning portal: GOSH Learning Academy. This notice is issued by the GOSH Learning Academy and covers the data we hold about individuals who use our services.

Learning portal refers to www.goshlearningacademy.co.uk. This is the website we use to advertise and sell the GOSH Learning Academy’s courses, events, and expert talks.

On this site, we may collect the following:

  • Personal details – such as your first name and surname.
  • Contact details – such as your email address, telephone number and billing address.
  • Employment details – such as the organisation/trust you work for, your staff group and your job title.
  • Financial data – such as the method with which you made payment e.g. PayPal, credit/debit card.
  • Transaction data – such as your order details, which courses, events or talks you have purchased from this site.
  • Technical data – such as Internet protocol (IP) address and country of origin.

The above is the minimum deemed necessary for users to browse and purchase our courses/events/expert talks and create an account on our Learning Management System (LMS) GOLD, which is essential to access our course materials.

We may also collect further data due to direct interactions with you, such as:

  • Communication preferences – such as mailing list sign-up.
  • Survey responses – such as feedback forms.
  • Any other data you provide if you contact us, either by email or using our contact form: Contact us – GOSH Learning Academy

We also collect aggregated data. Aggregated data could be derived from your personal data but is not considered personal data in law as this data will not directly or indirectly reveal your identity. For example, we may use your usage data to report on the number of users who have purchased a specific course for us to assess its popularity.

GOLD stands for ‘GOSH Online Learning and Development’ and is the Learning Management System (LMS) where all course content is held and delivered. GOLD is linked to our learning portal and therefore creating an account on GOSH Learning Academy creates you an account on GOLD. This is essential to access your course content and booked sessions.

All data, excluding the financial, transaction, technical, contact data, and some survey data listed above is held within GOLD, rather than the learning portal, and therefore you can refer to the GOLD privacy statement for further information: GOSH GOLD Privacy Statement V3.pdf. Please note: this is only applicable if you create an account on www.goshlearningacademy.co.uk and therefore create an account on GOLD. You will only be able to view the GOLD privacy statement on GOLD itself so will need a GOLD account in order to do so.

If you have any questions on privacy, or anything else, please contact us.
